Comic Book Firsts

Below is a chronological list of the first appearances of many comic book characters and concepts. The dates given are the cover dates of the issues in which the character first appeared, which are generally two to three months later than the date that the magazine was actually released. (Cover dates are like the expiration dates on milk cartons. They tell the store owner when to take the magazine off the stands, not when the magazine came out.)
